In Bakersfield, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across California on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Bakersfield is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I absolutely love Romi’s Grill and Slice! I’ve been there several times now, and every visit has been fantastic. The first pizza I tried was the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza, which was incredible, but the Butter Chicken pizza completely won me over. It was love at first bite, and it’s become my go-to order ever since. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the ingredients always taste fresh and high quality, and every pizza comes out hot and delicious. I also highly recommend trying the Gulab Jamun “cheese balls” for dessert. They are soft fried milk dough balls soaked in a sweet syrup. So good! Their mango lassi is also very delicious. They also serve their pizzas with a variety of Indian-inspired ranch dipping sauces. The green sauce is my favorite and adds so much extra flavor. Beyond the food, the customer service is always great. The gentleman who runs the truck is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of his customers. If you’re looking for something different from traditional pizza, Romi’s Grill and Slice is a must-try. Fresh food, unique flavors, great service, and consistently delicious every time. Easily one of my favorite places to eat in Bakersfield!

Romi's is legitimately one of the best food trucks in town. You can tell the owner takes pride in the food he serves. I've been multiple times and have gotten many different menu items. For pizzas we have tried the butter chicken pizza and paneer pizza, both were phenomenal, the flavor and spices make it feel like a full comforting meal. Definitely must get with their tandoori ranch and the green sauce, the flavors are just a match made in heaven! We've had the fried fish appetizer as well, and the quality and freshness was impressive. We had to have a couple fried fish bites before making the drive home, absolutely incredible crunch but still felt nice and light to eat. Amazing! The last time we went to Romi's genuinely blew us away. He let us try a new menu item, his take on an Indian street food burger. When I tell you this was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth! I'm not joking, it was such a rollercoaster of flavor! All vegetarian with a beautifully spiced potato patty on top of a healthy slice of paneer with like a mint chutney drizzled on the bottom bun, thick slice of white onion, crunchy cucumber, and topped with noodles!!! I legitimately couldn't believe how

Went to try the pizzas, but it was sold out So got a grab of lamb roll, and when I looked at the green wrapped roll, I was second guessing myself. But after the first bite, boy I was wrong, perfect amount of spice and the sauce to accompany it was a perfect match. Loved it, will definitely go back for the lamb roll and try their pizzas too. Located at the corner of Rosedale Hwy and Calloway drive, with a bunch of other food trucks in the lot.
